In 2011 will see the development of paving stones of increasingly greater dimensions. Today, hard rocks can be transformed into paving stones that measure 24" x 24" (60 x 60 cm), and even 36" x 36" (80 x 80 cm)…
The trend is to super-size, and we are now working on rocks that can support pieces measuring approximately 80" x 80" (210 x 210 cm). Huge slabs of real stone, which due to their extreme hardness, will be 1.2 to 2" (3 cm to 5 cm) thick.
Only slate, granite and quartzite can be used to produce these calibers.
Certain South American countries are blessed with incredible deposits which offer a superbly large range of colors. Graphite gray, black, chocolate, burgundy, or green olive, are colors that you will see in natural stone products in coming years, starting in 2011.

The other trend, already well established, is the use of natural paving stones set on a polyester or glass fiber webbing. The materials used at present are mostly traditional but new forms should enable the creation of more complex mosaic patterns.

Slate is a metamorphic rock belonging to the shale family. Slate is resistant and its color can vary from white through to black, passing through many shades of grays, dark reds and greens on the way.
